Travato 59K Bed Setup My Way: No Front Support Leg, No Problem

My Travato 59K bed didn’t break a front support leg. It never came with one. That leg has been missing since the day I got the van, about 5 years ago.

So I set up the bed my way. It’s not perfect, but it gets the job done safely.

What’s missing

The 59K bed can go from the twin layout to a larger king bed. To do that, the bed needs support underneath. Mine came without the front support leg, so I had to figure out my own support.

How I set up my king bed

1. Table base. I use the table base as the front support.

2. Rear support. My backup Honda generator plus a book. Creative improv, but it works. (It’s the same generator I use to charge on cloudy days: how I charge my Travato with a backup Honda generator.)

3. Cushions. I put the cushions in place for a cozy sleep setup.

4. WinnSleep system. It goes on for comfort.

The tradeoff

Real talk: once the king bed is set up, the hallway is not accessible. If hallway space is your pain point in a 59K, my $35 no-drill swing table mod is how I get more room when the bed isn’t in the way.
